Course Objective

To identify the the terms of globalization and related terms (such as Glocalization, syncretism, hybrdization, migratin and global cultural flow) and use them in the studies of musicologic research.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify the the terms of globalization and related terms (such as Glocalization, syncretism, hybrdization, migratin and global cultural flow) and use them in the studies of musicologic research..
2   To identify the advanced theoretical, social/cultural, scientific terminologies and concepts related to musicology.
3   To grasp the theoretical, procedural and methodological relationships between Musicology and other disciplines (anthropology, sociology, cultural studies etc.).
4   To associate the methods and approaches used in other diciplines with musicology.
5   To identify the differences of methodology and techniques between written scientific materials (research reports, papers, thesis, proceedings etc.) and verbal presentations (seminars, symposiums, conferences etc.).

5 The concepts of locality, glocalization, syncretism, deterritorialization, hybirdization ve localization kavramları ve relations with music.
6 Migraiton, diaspora, transnationalism and music.
7 Scapes of global cultrural flow.
8 Spaces of Global Cultural flow
9 Approaches about global flow of the music.
10 Global flow of popular music.
