Course Objective

The main object of this course is to help students on developing creative sollutions for their own designer portfolios by analyzing other designer s portfolios. Push the boundaries of conventional designs, and different materials to produce creative solutions to create a presentation of the unexpected, as well as taking advantage of new media, such course is to push the boundaries between art and design goals.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Student will be able to support his/her creative perspective with the right choise media on a portfolio design Project.
2   Student will be able to get the knowledge of intimate relation between art and design following his/her readings and researches.
3   Student will be able to use every opportunity of the design process effectively in masters level.
4   Student will be aware of maintainability of researching, observing and developing in lifelong period.
5   Student will be able to have the creativeness and the ability that would help to direct several visual communication mediums and the technologies.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Meeting Stage. Brief information about the course. Examination of typographic design from past to today. Instructions about how to choose and research topics. Explanations about how to apply researches into practice and continuity of design process.
2 Giving directions to the students one by one about how to build project concept. Defining the research paper topics and discussion with the students to assign their choices.
3 Suggestions for project draft. Critique of research paper.
4 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
5 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
6 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
7 Submission of the research paper
8 Seminar
9 Developing sketches into comps
10 Working on project mockup. Election of right media and material.
11 Making alternatives for design mockup.
12 Eliminations of the final design work.
13 Making critics on designs final stage.
14 Finalizing works into finished artwork. Critique of project.
