Course Objective

This course aims to provide a thorough perspective in the design, development and analysis of information systems that are used for managing all aspects of transportation and logistics systems with different levels of complexity and scope.

1   Analyze and design information flow architectures for transportation operations
2   Design and develop data and functional models for transportation information systems
3   Plan and design integrated information systems to provide intelligent decision support for transportation operations and investments
4   Determine key performance indicators for transportation information systems
5   Develop information management strategies for transportation systems

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. Besides the taught lecture, group presentations are to be prepared by the groups assigned and presented in a discussion session. In some weeks of the course, results of the homework given previously are discussed.
