Course Objective

Determination of physical, chemical, biologica land microbiological, gas contaminants and their risk factors.Giving information about utilization of occupational health and safety rules for each agent, hygienic rules, possible risks and their management. Giving the knowledge of determination and management of various types of risk factors in different treatment plants. Examination of samples that took place and discussion of precautions that were taken and might be taken.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning to determine the risks and their control methods of physical, chemical, biological, microbiological ect. agents in treatment plants
2   To determine the diffusion risks of spesific factors like noise, smell, gas leakage and to take the occupationa lhealth and safety precautions at these situations, tolearn how to calculate the risks and their management methods.
3   To determine the accidential risks like slipping, falling into pools ect. and planning their management.
4   To determine the ergonomic, physicosocial, organizational risks in treatment plants and planning their management
5   To evaluate various types of risks in different treatment plants and planning their managment
6   To examine samples that took place and discuss precautions that were taken and might be taken.

1 Physical agents in treatment plants Risks occurring from wheather conditions like flood, lightning, snow ect., effects of UV radiation
2 Risk factors and management of noise Effects of noise from mechanical instrument and their control and management
3 Risks of chemical agents used at treatment plants Acute and chronic effects of chemicals
4 Biological agents in treatment plants Organisms used in treatment plants and organisms from municipal wastewaters which are human originated
5 Sample Case studies
6 Risks of gas diffusion and gas control and managment Explosive, reactive, toxic gas control and the risks of diffusion
7 Mid term exam
8 Accidental risks at treatment plants Slipping, falling into pools, death into full of gas pipes etc.
9 Ergonomic, physicosocial, organizational risks in treatment plants and planning their management Risks of bad smells of wastes, bad working conditions, and not too "respectable" occupation cause of working in dirty workplace
10 Varies type of risks due to different treatment plants
