Course Objective

Within the context of this course, it is aimed to investigate in detail protein phosphorylation reactions and kinases, PKC isotypes and identification, the structure and membrane bindig of PKC C1 and C2 domains, the regülation of PKC by membrane, protein interactions and phosphorylation, the downregulation of PKC, the role of PKC in yeasts as well as the spesific role of atypic PKC.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   evaluate protein phosphorylation reactions and protein kinases,
2   know PKC isotypes and identification,
3   reclaim the structure and membrane bindig of PKC C1 and C2 domains, the regülation of PKC by membrane, protein interactions and phosphorylation, and the downregulation of PKC,
4   understand, the role of PKC in yeasts,
5   gain knowledge about the spesific role of atypic PKC.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term and final exams, active participation to the lecture, homework.
