Course Objective

The immobilization of peptides, proteins, antibodies, enzymes, nucleic acids and many other affinity ligands will be exemplified by discussing the topics such as bases of affinity chromatography, immobilized affinity ligands used in different systems, how these ligands are applied, selection of matrix, methods of matrix activation, ligand immobilization, and the course will include the application areas of affinity systems depend on purpose.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have knowledge about natural and synthetic carriers used in affinity ligand techniques,
2   Discuss and have knowledge about activation methods of various carriers,
3   Discuss and have knowledge about ligand immobilization methods,
4   Discuss yieldance of ligand activation,
5   Have knowledge and give example about purification, seperation, catalysis and modification, applications of affinity ligands.
