Course Objective

Nanostructured materials or nanomaterials which are materials with structural units on a nanometer scale in the least one direction have received much attention worldwide over the past decade.
A biosensor is a measurement system for the detection of an analyte that combines a biological compenent with a physicochemical detector, and a nanobiosensor is a biosensor that an the nano-scale size.
Nanotechnology approaches are offering a large series of nanoparticles (NPs) with special interest for biosensing systems.
NPs are gaining interest biosensing applications due to the size and shape dependent physical, chemical and electrochemical properties. Using NPs for preparation of biosensors provide improvement of electrode sensitivity.
This course Nanostructured Materials in Electrochemistry focuses on the importance of elctrochemistry in the fabrication as well as the functional capabilities of a great many nanostructured materials, processes and devices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding of the basic principles of biosensors and nanobiosensors
2   Understanding of the application of nanoparticles at electrochemical methods
3   Learning the methods of preperation of nanoparticles based sensors
4   Learning of nanobiosensors of application areas today
5   Making of the literature follow and comment
