Course Objective

To give an understanding of the design principles of biological treatment processes and its applications. Detailed coverage of aerobic, anoxic and anaerobic processes for wastewater treatment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define fundamental concepts and processes for environmental technology
2   Identify the range of conventional and advanced biological treatment processes for the wastewater treatment
3   Understand biological process principles and to apply these principles to unit process design and operation
4   Select appropriate processes for specific applications, and have some knowledge of practical design considerations
5   Describe and solve problems relating to biological process
