Course Objective

The aim of the course is to explain the basic principles of solid waste management, to examine and inform waste management steps, and to discuss current practices with students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Has knowledge of basic processes in solid waste management.
2   Knows and discusses the basic principles of material recycling from wastes.
3   Can make process selection depending on waste characterization.
4   Knows the basic principles of sanitary landfilling and can discuss the preliminary processes.
5   Compares the biological and thermal processes in waste management and discusses the selection of the appropriate method.
