Course Objective

The main objective of the course is to first introduce the role of maps and their interface with GIS. The comprehensive account of the acquisition of data, map design, topographic and statistical mapping is the main topics of the course. The course also demonstrates the advanced mapping environments.

1   To classify map materials.
2   To compare map materials.
3   To choose best map materials for a specific map design.
4   To interpret the role of the digital maps
5   To relate theoritical knowledge to cartographic tools.
