Course Objective

The objective of this course is to teach fundamentals of mechatronics to provide background
for understanding operation of the mechatronic systems which mechanical engineers deal with in their working environments
to determine the requirements of the mechatronic systems to integrate their designs
to establish communicational and informative skills to collaborate in multidisciplinary projects with computer, electrical and electronics engineers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describing mechanical equations of robotics using kinematics.
2   Identifying the appropriate sensors for the control process
3   Computing the dimensions and power needs of the mechatronic systems that are designed
4   Choosing appropriate control unit for their designs
5   Selecting the correct actuator type for their mechatronic systems
