To contribute to the improvement of students in terms of thesis writing, the determination of topic and methodology by helping graduate students to get analytical, creative and scientific thinking skills.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Seismic sources and the solution of the wave equation Basic information on seismic sources.
2 Wave propagation in isotropic environments Determining Elasto-dynamic wave equation. Determining Green's function and its applications.
3 The size and volume of seismic sources. Magnitudes as a seismic source
4 What is the seismic energy Energy-size relationship. Some models of the seismic source volume.
5 Examples of mechanisms and radiation source. Examples of radiation and the source mechanism solving.
6 Single and double strong point sources. S waves and their polarization angles, surface-wave applications. Source mechanism of plate tectonics and the relationship with the data.
7 I. MID-TERM.
8 Suspension resources. Teleseismic events and ruptures wave propagation.
9 Phase ratio and directivity function. From the finite-dimensional body waves emitted. Seismic moment, source time function.
10 Acoustic resources. And emission of an acoustic wave equation solution.
11 Basic information on the sources of acoustic energy. Acoustic energy resources is significant. Acoustic correction factors of the sources and solution techniques.
12 Information on the various types of acoustic source. Transducer resources, Pinger, Uniboom, Boomer, Sparker systems. Dynamite and explosives, Flexotir, Maxipulse systems.
13 Aquapulse (sleeve exploder), Vaporchoc (steam gun) systems. Flexichoc, air gun (Airgun), water gun (watergun) systems.
