Course Objective

Marine geophysical surveys has made great progress in recent years. Humanity is in need of oil, natural gas, metals, etc. groundwater resources and the environment for the purpose of obtaining the sea underwater discharge pipes, cables, construction, etc. To investigate the structure of the sea floor for manufacturing marine geophysical surveys have been extremely important. In this course, basic geophysical methods used in marine seismic, gravity, magnetic and heat flow measurements and discusses their application examples.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The basic principles of marine geophysics. And geophysical methods used in the various potential areas of marine research.
2   The basic principles of gravity and magnetic methods and uses of the seas.
3   Marine seismic studies and receiving the data.
4   Electrical and electromagnetic methods and the applicability of these marine research.
5   Other geophysical methods used in the seas.
