Course Objective

To investigate geothermal systems that use geothermal energy for the purposes of heating or electric generation and to determine the design criteria.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts related to geothermal energy.
2   Define the basic working principles of the plate heat exchangers.
3   Select components for the distribution system.
4   Select appropriate pumps and plate heat exchanger for the system.
5   Design the geothermal district heating systems.
6   Design the geothermal greenhouse heating systems.
7   Design the geothermal power plants.
