Course Objective

The objective of the course is to provide needed technical knowledge for selecting the appropriate turbines for the Hydraulic power plants by explaining to classify the water turbines, turbine characteristics, and working without cavitation to students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the basic principles of the water turbines.
2   Define the basic working principles of the turbines.
3   Interpret the turbines efficiency curves.
4   Calculate the system losses.
5   Select appropriate turbines for the Hydraulic power plants.
