Course Objective

This course will focus on the geotechnical instrumentation, measurements and evaluation of measurements which are using in mining industry. Recent research articles on those subject will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand the fundamentals of geotechnical instrumentations
2   To learn the type of geotechnical instrumentations and measurements
3   To learn how to apply geotechnical instrumentations in open pit and underground mining operations/underground constructions
4   To evaluate the data obtained from measurements
5   To manage the geotechnical measurement studies
