Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to address the specific methods used in underground mining, and the latest developments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to analyze gas and drainage problems and preventive methods in underground mining
2   To be able to know roof control techniques and equipments
3   To be able to understand parameters effecting of thick coal seam mining in underground operations.
4   To be able to follow developments in fully mechanized longwall mining and equipments
5   To be able to follow advance in safety equipments for underground mines
