Course Objective

Description of marble and its properties, marble production techniques, marble cutting and embroidery techniques cost analysis for production techniques, recent development and modern technology for marble quarrying.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehension of the effect of quarry methods on dimensional stone production
2   Ability to define the properties of quarry methods and their performance
3   To learn the design and production techniques of different types of stones
4   Ability to select the production method of stones according to ore deposit structures and application requirements
5   Ability to make a literature survey to find the required data and the methods to be used to select of the quarry methods for a specific aim and present and synthesis the results
