Course Objective

Teaching the important parameters of coal washing, teaching the environmental restraints and requirements for the market. The course aims to make the students be able to determine the coal washability and effect of the choice method. Teaching the coal preparation, coal washing and coal dewatering methods. Teaching the determine and comment efficiency and performance of coal preparation, control of the process tailings. Teaching the construct of flow sheet and solid-water balance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowing the aim of coal preparation, evaluate the coal properties according the market
2   Define the relationship between coal properties and coal preparation
3   Adopt a coal preparation method and improve flowsheet.
4   Knowing and choosing the coal dewatering and drying methods according the coal properties.
5   Analysing the coal preparation tailings for environmental effects and define suitable depony technique.
