HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING AND WATER RESOURCES |
Course Objective |
Hydrometric data, such as precipitation, stream flow, lake levels, and various water quality variables, consists of hydrologic and meteorological observations recorded in time at sites spatially distributed over geographic regions. These data may contain systematic and/or random errors in addition to sampling variations. Therefore, the main objective of this lecture is to learn about traditional probabilistic models and statistical procedures which can account for uncertainty in estimation of design event magnitudes and models that are commonly used in water resources engineering. |
