Course Objective |
In this course, seismic hazard assessment in frame of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering principles is aimed. In this manner, topics such as deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (theory and application) are given in addition to fundamental concepts with respect to fault types, fault geometry and seismic hazard types. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
Theoretical lessons are made together with some application problems and research papers for subjects related with seismic hazard assessment. Homeworks related with seismic hazard assessment in frame of the geotechnical earthquake engineering principles is given to each student. The results of analyses are discussed in frame of the Turkish Seismic Code for Buildings (2018) and other seismic specifications that are commonly used in the world. |
