Course Objective

The course focuses on the relational and object-relational databases, their query languages and expressive power.
The SQL language and its new standard (SQL3) are examined. The course also aims at guiding and encouraging students to do research on database fields such as temporal, spatial data modelling, moving objects and query languages.
