Course Objective

This course focus on planning and design of manufacturing facilities. Facilities design teaches the analytical tools necessary to effectively tackle the problem of designing the layout of a productive facility. The course also discusses location problems, i.e., analytical methods to determine optimal locations of machines/ work centers in a manufacturing area. Various layout software and MATLAB are used to solve the facilities design problems.
