Course Objective

The primary aim of this course is to teach operation principle of various measurement sensors and their accompanied circuits. To give a systematic view of measurement technology instrumentation circuits, specific instruments is of primary importance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students will gain a fundamental understanding of the operation of various sensor types and their applications.
2   The students will gain a better understanding of high performance oscilloscope probes, their working principle and limitations.
3   The students will gain a design skill for a good analog signal processing system.
4   The students will gain a better understanding of modern instruments .
5   The students will gain a better understanding of filters and precautions for interference free measurements.

5 Rotational Motion Transducers, Gyroscopes
6 Mid-Term-I Exam
7 Temperature Measurement,Thermoelectric Effect Sensors ( Thermocouples) and their conditioning circuits,
8 Radio Frequency Measurement Techniques and Instruments (Overview)
9 RF Impedance Measurements and Scattering Parameter Measurements,
10 Current Transformers and Rogowski Coil Sensors, their Bandwidth limitations, equivalent circuit models
11 Computer Based Data Acquisition
12 Measurement Signal Transmission ,Current Loop, Fiberoptic and Pneumatic Transmission,
