Course Objective

This course is a continuation course of ARC 5031. The main objective of this course is to prepare a detailed computer program for the application and analysis of an architectural and/or a civil engineering project.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have a certain level of knowledge in order to realize the various applications in architectural area by using a computer programming language
2   To be able analyse various problems in structural area by using computer programming
3   To propose alternative solution ways and solutions for problems
4   To evaluate alternative solutions reached
5   To provide a base for students in order to continue their studies in advanced or academic level

1 Introduction of the course. General view to the project topics
2 Proposal of the project topics by the students. Discussions and determination of each student s project topic.
3 Discussion on the study programs. Formation of flow charts of the computer programs.
4 Starting of adaption of flow charts and programming studies
5 Application and development phases of the projects: Arrangements, corrections, critiques, discussions.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course will be carried out directly from a project based topic. The project topic will be determined from various alternative topics proposed by the student. The phases and development of the project will be criticized and discussed during the classes.
