Course Objective

This course is a continuation course of ARC 6031. The main objective of this course is to prepare a detailed computer program for the application and analysis of a highly indeterminate framed structure by the matrix-based methods (Displacement Method and `Force Method) constitutes the main aim of the course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have a knowledge to analyse framed structures by using matrix-based methods
2   To be able to apply matrix-based methods to the analysis of highly-indeterminate framed structures
3   To be able create a computer programme by applying the matrix-based analysis methods
4   To be able to examine the computer results of the analyses of the structures obtained with matrix-based methods.
5   To evaluate the suitability and effectiveness for computer programming of various structural analysis methods

2 Proposal of the project structures by the students. Discussions and determination of each student s project topic.
3 Discussion on the study programs. Formation of flow charts of the computer programs.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course will be carried out directly from a project based topic. The project topic will be determined from various framed structures proposed by the student. The phases and development of the project will be criticized and discussed during the classes.
