Course Objective

The introduction of the general procedures for the isolation and purification of enzymes, basic characterization procedures in industrial applications, the usages of the free and immobilized enzymes that are of industrially significant and future targets will be discussed in detail.

1   Generate an idea as to the isolation and purification techniques depend on sources of enzymes,
2   Examine advantages of the industrial usages of enzymes in the form of immobilized,
3   Know the effective parameters of enzymes in free or immobilized industrial applications,
4   Notice the industrial enzyme production applications in the world and Turkey wide,
5   Comprehend the expectations of the enzyme technology in nowadays and future.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term, final and resit exams, active participation to the lecture, homework.
