Course Objective

Within the context of this course, it is aimed to discuss the topics of cell proliferation and death, programmed cell death apoptosis and its induction factors, the control pathways, morphological and biochemical changes, its relationship with diseases as well as other alternative cell death and necrosis in autophagy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know cell proliferation and death.
2   Produce an idea about programmed cell deaths.
3   Comprehend apoptosis and its induction factors, the control mechanisms and morphological-biochemical changes observed during apoptotic cell death.
4   Produce an idea about the differences of programmed cell deaths.
5   Gain knowledge about techniques used to characterize apoptotic cell death.
