Course Objective

Various physical and chemical immobilization methods that can be applied to enzymes, cells and organelles, mechanisms; properties of organic-anorganic carriers and activation of these materials, cross linking and characterization will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend the importance of enzymes, cells and organelles immobilization,
2   Examine physical and chemical immobilization methods,
3   Know the properties of organic-anorganic materials which can be used for immobilization and examine alternative activation methods,
4   Know and examine the kinetic characterization of immobilized samples,
5   Have a knowledge about the application areas of immobilized enzymes, cells and organelles.
