Course Objective

To be able to research to clarify and identify the source and evolutional stages of the epithermal deposits. To be able to work in exploration and operation stage.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the physical and chemical properties of the fluid of the epithermal deposits.
2   To know the effects of different parametres and controls on the formation of epithermal deposits.
3   To clarify the source of fluids using advanced geochemical methods.
4   To design an explorat.on program to prospect the epithermal deposits
5   To take responsibility in both operation and in the laboratory in operation stage

3 Controls and geological and geochemical environments in the formation of the epithermal deposits
4 Characteristic properties of epithermal ore forming fluids.
5 Characteristic properties of epithermal ore forming fluids.
6 Sources of ore-forming epithermal studies.
7 Sources of ore-forming epithermal systems.
8 Midterm exam
9 Texture and fabrics of the epithermal ore
10 Paragenesis and succession in epithermal deposits
11 Alteration zonation and alteration mineral assemblages.
12 Distribution of epithermal deposits in Turkey and their caharacteristics.
13 Examples of epithermal deposits in Western Anatolia.
14 Examples of epithermal deposits in the world.
