Course Objective |
This course provide an introduction to the major palynomorph groups and the applications of palynology in Phanerozoic biostratigraphy and palaeoecology. Readings focus on the use of palynology in tracing environmental change over geological time, and the value of palynology in reconstructing environment. The lecture emphasizes identification and interpretation of palynomorph assemblages. |

Further Notes About Assessment Methods |
Course assessment is based upon two components: Practical exercises homework involving a palynomorph counts of one or more samples during the teaching days and 1500 word review essay on a palynomorph-analytical term paper of particular relevance to each student's Tertiary or Mesozoic interests. |
