Course Objective

The aim of this lesson is to explain the using of data acquisition, assessment, interpretation and navigation systems that are necessary for these technics and geophysic systems for tectonic purpose, hydrothermal metal agglomerate analysis, heat flow measurements etc. during the determination of geothermal areas with methods that using geothermal areas technics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having information about data acquisition and methods which have been used for geothermal areas investigations.
2   Having information about determination of reservoir with marine geophysic studies.
3   Having skill for applying and interpretating ground gravity and magnetic measurements for scientific and engineering purpose on the sea.
4   Having skill about doing assessment and modelling studies of gravity measurement maps that applied on the sea.
5   Having information about finding water outputs with investigation of submarine faults and determine neotectonic structures.
6   Taking part at the original studies by using available hardware, software and informatic technologies.
7   Using available hardware and software with ARGE projects.
8   Having skill man power for institution that done sea studies.

1 Geothermal energy and geologic properties of geothermal area
2 Navigation systems at the marine studies
3 Investigation with magnetic methods of reservoir areas
4 Approach with gravity measurements to reservoir areas
5 Seismic studies at the determination tectonism
6 The investigation of submarine structures with side scan sonar and determination of water outputs with high resolution seismic system
7 Mid-term exam
8 Reservoir determination with deep seismic methods
9 Investigation of surface gradient
10 Investigation of sample bathymetric maps
11 Heat flow measurements and assessment
12 Effects of hydrothermal outputs to water column, measurement and assessment
13 The interpretation of geothermal area
14 Final Exam

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Lessons
Lecturer leads students for giving answer to questions and want to present their opinions about lesson content. Lessons are for assessment done on environment of informations are about sample data analizing.
2. Review Sessions and Class Discussions
Review Sessions will be carried out by lecturer on the last time of lesson at the every week. Homeworks and presentations that done by students will generate base of problems at this sessions. With this, attendance to class discussions of students will encourage.
3. Computer Applications
In the computer applications, data processing program will be introduced for executing data interpretations.Informations are about using of this softwares will be provided by using class applications are related to data interpretation, discussions and resource books that related to data processing method.
