Course Objective

The aims of this course are the protection, the reclaimation and treatment of the basins on the basis of the sustainable development and to assess the protection fields of the aquifers in the basins.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define hydrogeological basins
2   To be able to explain hydrogeological parts of the environmental impact assessments
3   To be able to determine the hydrological and hydrogeological basins
4   To be able to explain of the protection zone and precaution methods
5   To be able to determine the protection fields of hydrogeological basins

1 Relations of the environmental impact assessment and the hydrogeology, Concepts
2 Surface and subsurface waters upon basin
3 Vulnerability mappings upon environmental protection
4 Vulnerability to pollution of groundwater aquifers in Turkey
5 The fields of which have the faster circulating polluttants (Karstic fiels)
6 The fields of which have the slower circulating polluttants (sandstones, sands, volcanics etc. )
7 Recharge zones of the aquifers
8 Midterm Examination
9 Protection zones
10 Absolute and short distance protection zones
11 Intermediate and long distance protection zones
12 The status of the metalic and ındustrial row materials upon (EIA) environmental impact assessment
13 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the applications in our country
14 Laws and Instructions
15 Handlig over of homework and presentation
