Course Objective

The aim of the seminar is to enable and encourage the students to do literature search on a given or selected topic in marine sciences, to give them the opportunity to learn synthesizing the information gathered from the literature survey, to analyze, interpret and discuss the findings in the light of available literature, to compile the results in a form of a report and to submit them before an audience.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Carry out a detailed literature survey on a given or selected research subject.
2   Pay attention to the ethical rules to be followed in the course of a scientific study.
3   Gather, synthesize, analyze and interpret the results of the literature search to reach a solution for a pre-determined problem or subject within or outside their areas of interest.
4   Communicate the results of the survey in written, oral and visual forms.
5   Prepare a substantial report based on the results from the literature search and feel confident to submit them before an audience.
