Course Objective

To provide needed technical knowledge for the design of system by explaining the solar collectors, solar process loads, solar heating and photovoltaic systems to students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the basic concepts related to solar energy.
2   To define the basic working principles of the solar collectors.
3   To calculate the solar process loads.
4   To select appropriate solar collector for the system.
5   To design the solar water heating systems.
6   To design the passive and hybrid heating systems.
7   To define the basic working principles of the photovoltaic systems.
8   To design the photovoltaic systems.
