Course Objective

The aim of this course is to give the students (studied Mechanical Engineering and now learning Construction and Manufacturing) general principles of special crane constructions and the examples of these constructions in industry

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the course it is expected that the student will be able to calculate the steel structures in the cranes and drawing them
2   At the end of the course it is expected that the student will be able to describe the main structures of crane constructions
3   At the end of the course it is expected that the student will be able to compare the crane constructions
4   At the end of the course it is expected that the student will be able to definite and analyze of the systems that using for different transmission structures
5   At the end of the course it is expected that the student will be able to calculate the mechanisms in the crane construction for design

1 General informations, cross-sectional shapes, dimensioning, constructive forming and examples
2 Frames, construction of frame corners, frame stands and its working
3 Lattice girders, lattice girder systems, rod sections, lattice girder constructions, riveted lattice girders, welded lattice girders, bearing of lattice girder
4 Special crane constructions, adjustable cranes
5 Soaring cranes from rotary tower cranes and its working
6 Mobile cranes
7 Mid-term exam
8 Steel mill cranes, ingot cranes, deep quarry cranes
9 Scrap loading cranes, magnetic cranes
10 Floating cranes, ship cranes
11 Cable cranes
12 Loading bridges
13 Rolling mill cranes, ship building cranes
14 Student presentations
