Course Objective |
The process of froth flotation is extensively used in Mining Mineral, Metallurgical and chemical industries for separation and selective concentration of metallic industrial minerals, coal and other solids. The importance of Flotation Technology is chiefly due to the ease with which it can be made selective and versatile and to the economy of the process. Since 1960, when the dissolved air process, which has already had some success in the pulp and paper industry was applied to water and waste-water treatment. This course will teach flotation technology as well as flotation kinetics and modeling. Also the investigative techniques of the laboratory and plant will be described, followed by the applications of flotation in the mineral industry and the other fields (water/waste-water treatment, pharmaceuticals and food industries). |
