STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

Course Objective

In this course, the l,near-elastic and nonlinear-elastic structures are idealized as distrubuted parameter system. Dynamic response and internal force of these sutructures subjected to dynamic load are obtained. A primary aim of the course is to give students the solution methods for dynamic behaviour of the structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the distrubuted parameter systems.
2   To select the displacements and internal forces of structural systems subjected to dynamic forces for design.
3   To explain modal analysis by using examples.
4   To define the analysis of dynamic response
5   To compare the lumped mass systemwith the distrubuted parameter systems.
