Course Objective

The aims of the course are teaching basic ideas of nonparametric statistics. Since populations do not always meet the assumptions underlying parametric tests, we frequently need inferential procedures whose validity does not depend on rigid assumptions. Non parametric statistical procedures fill this need in many instances, since they are valid very general assumptions. We shall discuss nonparametric procedures also satisfy other needs of the researcher

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding basic elements of nonparametric statistics
2   Understanding theoretical background of nonparametric statistics
3   Choosing the appropriate nonparametric tests for the problems of research
4   Obtaining the results by using appropriate tests
5   Interpreting obtained results
