Course Objective

To inform about the dynamics of economic development of different types of regions in the light of mainstream theories of regional economics and regional development; In the face of increasing regional disparities, to understand the transformation in regional politics parallel to the theoretical developments and to introduce the areas of intervention and tools of regional development.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to demonstrate the importance and importance of regional economics in economic literature
2   Students will be able to classify various intervention areas and tools according to their role in regional development
3   Students will be able to critically evaluate the applied regional development policies
4   Students will be able to compare regional policies in Turkey and in the European Union at different times
5   Students can suggest policy alternatives to reduce regional disparities and transform territories into competitive units
