Course Objective

Basic knowledge of general properties of metals and alloys and melting furnaces melting techniques to learn.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to recognize casting metals used .
2   To be able to explain the theoretical basis of the melting process.
3   To be able to understanding working methods of the types of melting furnaces.
4   To be able to perform safe furnace charge preparation, melting and casting application.
5   To be able to make furnace repair and maintenance.

1 Basic knowledge of cast iron melting alloys.
2 Recognition of the melting furnace types.
3 Theoretical description of the melting process and melting security.
4 Charge of preparing melting and casting applications.
5 Temperature measurement of the sample and test strips to be made casting alloys.
6 Melting alloys and savers.
7 Melting alloys and savers.
8 Mid-term exam
9 Alloy construction and calculations
10 Burning fuels and refractories.
11 Combustion losses slag oxidation-reduction processes.
12 Analysis of alloying elements making and control.
13 Melting errors and measures.
14 Melting furnace repair.
