Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to gain, CNC lathe, bench work, preparation, writing and production of the program

2 Machine coordinate axes, reference points, control panel types, control panel keys and features
3 Cutter and workpiece material relationship, tool compensation settings, tool holders and fasteners
4 Zero points on the parts, properties of the elements used in zeroing
5 Giving depth of cut, angle of operation and feeds
6 Programming principles in CNC lathes
7 Programming principles in CNC lathes
8 Mid-term Exam
9 Definition and importance of simulation
10 Programming using CNC lathe cycles; face turning cycle, longitudinal rough turning cycle, grooving cycle
11 Programming using CNC lathe cycles; slotting cycle, drilling cycle, tapping cycle
12 Sub-programming technique
13 Alarm options in CNC machines, error codes used in programming
