Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the structure of roentgen equipment and how it is obtained radiographs

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to define the parts of Conventional and digital X-ray equipments
2   Being able to explain how the radiography is obtained
3   Being able to define the parameters affecting the contrast and contrast in radiography.
4   Knowing the radiographic image recording and storage systems
5   Being able to explain the techniques of contrast-enhanced examinations.
6   Being able to know contrast agents

1 Introduction and Structure of the X ray instruments
2 Structure and characteristics of the X ray tubes
3 X ray production
4 X-ray interactions with matter
5 Formation of the latent image on the radiography
6 Radiographic Parameters Affecting Image Quality ( tube voltage, tube current, exposure time, filtration, focal spot sizes, grid, etc. )
7 Formation of the real image on the radiography
8 Dark room and automatic processing machines
9 Digital radiography (CR and DR) and detectors
10 The factors Affecting digital image quality
11 Contrast enhanced radiological examinations
12 Evaluation of contrast-enhanced and non-contrast radiographs Contrast agents used in radiology, features, and effect to the image
13 Contrast media used in radiology and specifications
14 Artefacts
