Course Objective

This course aims to gain the students knowledge on the role and responsibilities of the operating room nurse, patient care in the operating room, operating room construction and architecture, patient and employee safety in operating room.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student can define the professional role and importance of the operating room nurse.
2   The student knows nursing attempts according to the types of anesthesia and surgery.
3   The student can explain the principles of patient care in the operating room.
4   The student can discuss the importance of patient safety in the operating room.
5   The student can discuss the importance of employee safety in the operating room.
6   The student can explain the importance of legal and ethical issues in the operating room environment.
7   The student can access to new information related to operating room nursing and continue his or her personal development.
