Course Objective

Basic physiological concepts in terms of nursing practices, the normal functioning principles of the human body from cell to systems and the main physiological mechanisms on the basis of systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student can know general physiology concepts and homeostasis mechanisms
2   The student can explain elements that make up the cell structure, material transport across the cell membrane, membrane potential and action potential formation
3   The student can explain the functions of the central and peripheral nervous system, the structure of neurons, the functions of the blood-brain barrier, the formation and functions of the cerebrospinal fluid.
4   The student can explain muscle physiology, contraction-relaxation process in striated and smooth muscle
5   The student can explain physiology of the heart and circulatory system
6   The student can explain physiology of the respiratory system
