Course Objective

This course aims to add the students the notion of establishing relations among human requirements, physical environment and architectural design and to equip students about functional dimension of architectural design.

1   To be able to define physical and psyco-social human requirements
2   To be able to evaluate the relation among human requirements, function, space and morphological organization on different samples
3   To be able to research and present human requirements by means of building typologies

2 Process of architectural design, relations among function, material, form and scale during architectural design, Question-reply and discussion
3 Human requirements in architectural design, spatial requirements, antropometric dimensions, activity analysis, area and space requirements

5 Thermal requirements, natural lighting, natural ventilation, passive heating, Student presentations
6 Aural requirements, acoustical and louding control, Student presentations
