Course Objective

Investigation of the comparative supremacy of some contemporary costruction systems of fully industrialised, semi industrialised, rationalised and conventional construction systems as well as determination of the most appropriate construction system by cost-benefit analysis.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To classify construction systems
2   To list the construction phases for any building
3   To determine the quantity survey, cost, building physics properties with emphasis on heat insulation values- and approximate construction time for any building
4   To compare construction systems by the use of value-benefit and/or cost-benefit analysis
5   To present information on a selected and researched construction system

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

At the end of each lesson, there will be a 10-minute kahoot quiz on the information learned in that lesson. The quizzes that appear as participation in the course and will continue for 10 weeks will be 10% effective. 1. Midterm exam (20% effective) will be held face to face at school. Homework/Presentation is 20% effective and half of the grade will be taken from the submitted assignment and the other half from the presentation. The final exam will be face-to-face and is 50% effective.

Assessment Criteria

Quiz/Kahoot % 10 (LO1, LO2, LO3, LO4)
Midterm % 20 (LO1, LO2, LO3)
Homework Assignments/Presentation % 20 (LO1, LO2, LO3, LO5)
Final Exam % 50 (LO1, LO2, LO3, LO4)
