Course Objective

Various kind of products are producing in many kinds of fields of industry. One of the important field of them is building construction. The aim of the course is to give detailed information about industry and industrialized building construction methods. Therefore, the concept of industrialization, standardization, modular coordination, history of industrialized building construction, definition of various systems (lifting and formwork systems, precast structural members, using materials, tolerances, etc.), frames, panels and cell structures will be handled and discussed during the course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognizing the meaning of industry and its specifications
2   Recognizing the historical development factors and its criterions of industry in the world and in our country
3   Recognizing the concepts of standards, modules and tolerances
4   Recognizing concepts, variations and specifications of industrialized building construction methods and prefabrication
5   Describing the production and building practices of industrialized building elements which have various kinds of materials and formed specifications (frames, panels and cell structures)
