Course Objective

This course intends to give students the ability to conceive of fundamental developments in the tourism sector; to define diversification of tourism with its social and economic aspects, the relationship between tourism and urban regeneration and implications of tourism in context of planning; to explain the different approaches in tourism planning and the characteristics of the sector; and to consider tourism facility areas and premises of planning in both local and global cases.

2   To describe the extent of diversification in tourism
3   To interpret the tourism sector indicators and their spatial impacts in contemporary cities
4   To examine the local implications of tourism via considerations of the world experience
