Course Objective

This course aims at enabling the students recognise the concepts of creativity and creative thinking and gain the ability of creative thinking. With the assumption that creativity is developable, the course aims at enabling students realize the factors that limit the creativity and achieve some experimental studies for accomplishing them.And integrate creativity with city and planning.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will be able to define the concepts of creativity and creative thinking (knowledge),
2   will be able to explain the issues and significance of individual and social creativity (comprehension),
3   will be able to relate the sphere of creativity with planning and design practices and the city (comprehension),
4   will be able to realise the factors that obstruct the creativity (comprehension),
5   will be able to discuss the phases of developing creative ideas and implementation (analysis),
6   will be able develop his/her studies with creative samples by practicing with theoretical data (synthesis).

6 The relationship between creativity and the city and creative cities
7 1. Homework - class practice This week 2. homework subjects will be given to the students.
8 How can a creative idea be developed Factors obstructing the creativity and entrepreneurship
9 Methods for achieving the creative idea, creative child and childhood
10 Implementation phases of the creative idea
11 Problem solving and creativity
12 Developing creative idea and individual studies This week course will be given through discussions and the evaluation of sample cases.
13 Developing creative idea and individual studies This week course will be given through discussions and the evaluation of sample cases.
14 Homework/Submission/Presentations This week students will submit their homework assignments and present each other during the two-hour course.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures. In order to remove the handicaps beyond the creativity of the students and enable them to recreate themselves individually and develop creative ideas and projects, readings, practicing, develop methodology and programs, evaluating the sample studies will constitute the general framework of the course. The course also aims at drawing the well-known people, significant presentations, seminar and activities in the area of creativity into the course context and hence enabling the students set relationship with professional platforms.
